Multi-factor authentication (MFA), also known as two-step verification, adds an extra layer of security to your account, reducing the risk of unauthorized access by as much as 99.2%.

This tutorial will guide you through setting up MFA for your account in the Entrust Client Portal.

  1. Access Two-Step Verification Settings: After logging in to the Entrust Client Portal, click your name in the upper-right corner of the portal. Select “Your contact info” from the dropdown menu. Click the green button labeled “Update 2-Step Verification” to start the process.
  2. Choose Your Two-Step Verification Method: You have two options for enabling MFA:
    1. Text/Voice Message Verification
    2. Authenticator App

Option A: Set Up Text or Voice Verification
    1. Click the Voice or Text option. Enter your phone number (mobile or landline). Leave the additional boxes unchecked unless instructed otherwise. Click “Submit.”
    2. Choose your preferred delivery method:
      1. Text for mobile phones.
      2. Call for landlines or mobile phones.
    3. Click “Send,” and a six-digit verification code will be sent to your phone. Enter the six-digit code and click “Submit” to complete the setup.

Option B: Set Up an Authenticator App
    1. Click the Authenticator option and then click “Submit.” Open your preferred authentication app such as:
      1. Google Authenticator
      2. Microsoft Authenticator
      3. Duo Mobile
      4. Authy
    2. Scan the QR code displayed on your screen using the app. If you cannot scan the QR code, manually add Entrust to your app by entering the setup key provided (sometimes referred to as a “secret key”).
    3. Enter the verification code generated by the app into the portal and click “Submit.”

By following these steps, you can better protect your account from unauthorized access with MFA.
