How to Send Funds from an Investment to Your Entrust Account

This video will show you how to send funds from an investment to your Entrust account in the Entrust Client Portal.

Transferring funds from an IRA investment to your Entrust account is a critical aspect of managing your self-directed IRA (SDIRA).

By ensuring that all investment-related funds flow through your Entrust account, you maintain a centralized and organized record of all transactions, simplifying accounting and financial management. Plus, this can help ensure you have liquidity available for other investment opportunities or for necessary distributions.

In this article, we’ll provide step-by-step instructions for sending funds from an investment to your Entrust account.

  1. Access Delivery Instructions: After logging in to the Entrust Client Portal, navigate to the Dashboard and scroll down to the "Quick Links" box. Click on "Delivery Instructions”. A new tab will open with Entrust’s Delivery Instructions. This document includes specific instructions for sending the funds through check, wire, or ACH. It also includes guidance on how to complete the “For Credit To” section.
  2. Provide Payment Details: For the account number, provide Entrust’s bank account number (included on the Delivery Instructions), not your personal Entrust account number. Only use your Entrust account number in the "For Credit To" section.
  3. Memo Section Instructions: In the memo section of the payment (whether wire, ACH, or check), specify if the funds are income generated from the asset by typing "Income from [Name of Asset]." If this information is provided correctly, no additional form is needed.
  4. Fill Additional Forms, if Required: If the memo section is blank, you will need one of the following forms based on the type of funds:
    • Deposit Coupon: For income generated from the asset, sometimes referred to as a distribution.
      • Go to the "Quick Links" box and click "Fund Account.” Select the correct Entrust account and in the “Contribution” section, click “Deposit Coupon form.” Email, fax, or mail the completed form.
    • Sell Direction Letter: For partial or full liquidation, or return of capital.
      • Navigate to the Dashboard and the "Quick Links" box. Click "Sell Asset," select the account and asset, and click "Next." Complete the Sell Direction Letter and email, fax, or mail the completed form.
    • Note Payoff Form: For fully paid-off unsecured notes.

By following these steps, you can successfully send funds from an investment to your Entrust account.
